實車介紹

● 伊豆急2100系「Alpha Resort 21」於1993年7月登場，作為以往廣受好評的展望型車輛「Resort 21」的改良車型 。

● 其外觀特徵包括擴大至建築界限極限的車體、大膽曲面構成的設計、巨大的車窗、正面配置了許多小徑車燈，以及延續自「Resort 21」並將紅、白、藍色大膽重新編排的車身塗裝 。

● 普通席除了有一般的對向式座椅外，還備有面向海側的座椅；此外，山側的座椅配置得比海側座椅高一階，這種設計是為了讓乘客無論坐在車內何處都能欣賞海岸的景色 。

● 編組中名為「Royal Box」的特別車廂，特徵是寬敞的 2+1 排列座椅，並且設計了在進入隧道時，車頂會投影出以海岸為意象的燈光效果 。

● 2007年，先頭部分進行了安裝LED式顯示器的改造，車頂顏色也變更為藍色 。

● 2016年，宣布「Alpha Resort 21」將進行改造工程，轉變為提供遊輪式旅行的觀光列車「THE ROYAL EXPRESS」（預計於2017年起運行），並於2016年9月結束了作為「Alpha Resort 21」的運行 。
