●2010 年 7 月，作為連接都心與成田機場的新路線，成田スカイアクセス線 正式通車，並開始運行經由該線的機場特急 スカイライナー，採用 AE 形 車輛。

●本型車以 160 km/h 的最高速度運行（新幹線以外最快），最短僅需 36 分鐘 即可往返日暮里與機場第 2 航廈。

●由於成田機場吸引眾多亞洲旅客，スカイライナー 也較開業初期大幅增班運行中。
