TOMIX 7164 電氣機關車 JR EF510-0 (增備型)

 

JR EF510-0形電気機関車(増備型)

 

EF510形0番代はEF81形の置き換えを目的として2002年に登場し、2004年から運行を開始した交直流電気機関車です。

赤を基調とした車体塗装から「ECO-POWER レッドサンダー」の愛称が付けられ、車体にロゴが配置されています。

主に従来EF81形が使用されていた日本海縦貫線で活躍するほか、近年では中央西線や岡山までの東海道・山陽本線など活躍範囲が拡大し活躍しています。

旅客用である500番代の登場後に増備された21号機以降は信号炎管の位置が500番代と同様である運転室助士側直上へと変更されるなど外観に変化が生じました。
